Rev Musembi holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Egerton University, a Masters of Divinity from the Nairobi Evangelical School of Theology and a second Masters in Peace Studies and International relations from the Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations, Catholic University of Eastern Africa. He has 11 years of strategic leadership as founder and coordinator of the Daystar peace Initiatives- an outreach arm of Daystar’s Peace and Conflict Transformation program that seeks to build local capacities in community-based peacebuilding.
He has extensive experience in conducting training workshops, seminars and conferences on Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation.
He helped community groups design peacebuilding activities, Facilitated Dialogues, Problem-solving Workshops, as well as Grassroots Community Mobilization in Nakuru, Molo, Olenguruoni, Elburgon, Eldoret, Kisumu and Mombasa among others.
In response to the ethnic tensions occasioned by the post-election violence in 2007/8, Rev Musembi developed a Bible Study Guide ‘Towards Community Cohesion and Conflict Transformation, Daystar University, January 2008) that was used by the Daystar Community to foster healing, reconciliation and community cohesion.

He is a co-founder director of Partners in Strategic Peacebuilding (PISTRAP) a local agency involved in mediation and peacebuilding in the East African region
