DUSA to Launch Tree Nursery - Thursday 16th February
Daystar University Management, in partnership with the Daystar University Students Association (DUSA) will on Thursday 16th February launch a tree nursery, currently nurturing 35,000 seedlings.
The Tree Nursery has been put up courtesy of The Chandaria Foundation.
In 2019, Daystar University began the beautification of it's Athi River Campus. Over 10,000 trees have so far been planted with 90% survival rate.
In 2023, the University aims to plant 50,000 trees.
The student body has pledged to own the nursery for project viability. The project is a great motivation to the Environmental Club and students taking Environmental studies towards, mitigating the negative effects of climate change. The overall goal is to increase forest cover by 10% through youth participation.
