DCF Celebrates 35 Years of Faith, Growth and Impact

At Daystar University ,Members, alumni, and guests gather to celebrate 35 years of Daystar Christian Fellowship, honoring a legacy of faith, leadership, and service.

[Athi River Campus: 12th April 2026] Daystar Christian Fellowship (DCF), the apex body for all student-led ministries, celebrated 35 years of existence in a Sunday service ceremony.

The event, which took place at the David Musau Mumama Learning Complex [DMMLC] Main Campus Athi River, was a commemoration of DCF’s rich legacy of faith, growth, and impact within and outside the University community.

The celebrations brought together distinguished guests including Company Board Chair, Mr. Ken Obimbo, Company Board Member, Ms. Hephzibah Beulah, DCF Founder and Coordinator,  Mr. Stephen Mbogo, the University Chaplain Rev. Miano Weche,  Alumni Relations Coordinator Dr. Leah Komen, and two Alumni from Ghana DUAA Chapter: Mr. Kofi Dzokoto - Class of 1988 and Mr. Stanley Kwaku Abiew - Class of 1992.  Also present were former DCF Chairpersons, staff and students.

The speaker of the day, DCF Founder Mr. Stephen Mbogo. He reflected on the milestones Daystar University has achieved as a testament of God’s faithfulness. Drawing from Joshua 23:14–15, he spoke about God’s promises, his unchanging nature, and enduring faithfulness. He reminded the congregation that God’s promises never fail and will always come to pass.

“Generations shall benefit from Daystar University not only academically but also spiritually,” he noted.

Mr. Mbogo described DCF at 35 as a journey of faith, and encouraged members to remain grounded in the Word of God. He called on alumni to make meaningful impact in their respective spaces while reflecting the university’s values. He also urged the congregation not to forget what the Lord has done and reassured students that Daystar University is shaping them to be distinct, service-oriented professionals in the job market.

In his remarks, Mr. Ken Obimbo emphasized that greatness is anchored in leadership and service. He encouraged members to seek God wholeheartedly, noting that through faith, God accomplishes his work. He further urged the congregation to carry the “Daystar light” wherever they go and underscored the importance of upholding values in all aspects of life.

Ms. Hephzibah Beulah highlighted the centrality of prayer in sustaining the University’s foundation, noting that prayer remains key to the institution’s strength. She affirmed that the Bible continues to be the spiritual guide, and emphasized that Christ remains at the center of Daystar University.

Mr. Stanley Kwaku Abiew commended the tremendous growth of both DCF and the University, noting that the institution significantly transformed his life. He encouraged students to take their studies seriously, emphasizing that Daystar nurtures individuals academically, spiritually, and socially.

Mr. Kofi Dzokoto praised the University’s growth and shared how Daystar transformed his life despite coming from a different country.

Dr. Leah Komen called upon alumni to remain connected to their alma mater and support ongoing initiatives, including the construction of the University chapel.

Rev. Miano Weche urged members to consistently engage with the Word of God as a guide for life. He acknowledged God’s faithfulness over the 35 years and expressed confidence in continued blessings for both DCF and the university. He further encouraged the congregation to embody Christian virtues such as kindness, compassion, love, mercy, humility, and patience, while turning away from what does not please God.

The outgoing DCF Nairobi Campus Chairperson, Ms. Cindy Manyasi, reflected on her leadership journey, noting that DCF molded her into a servant leader. Similarly, Athi River Campus outgoing Chairperson, Mr. Emmanuel Mukoya, shared how Daystar has shaped him into a strong leader and encouraged members to allow God to guide them in all their endeavors.

The incoming DCF Chairperson, Mr. Mboya Timothy Matui, remarked that the 35th DCF anniversary was not merely a celebration of its existence, but a testament to a legacy of obedience and faithfulness.

He emphasized that Daystar was not just a university by name, but a Christian institution by identity, one where faith is not only acknowledged, but intentionally nurtured and given space to grow.

He further noted, “Together, we remain committed to serving faithfully, leading diligently, and carrying forward the mandate that has defined DCF for the past 35 years.”

He concluded by quoting Matthew 28:19–20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

The celebration ended with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity, gratitude, and the enduring spirit of fellowship.
