BM Musau Advocates LLP and Interlaw Global Leadership collaborate to strengthen cross-border legal services in East Africa

[Friday 10th April 2026] BM Musau & Company Advocates and Interlaw Global Leadership recently signed a Memoranda of Understanding to reinforce effective cross- border legal solutions across East Africa.

The collaboration was announced at a media press briefing held at the Norfolk Fairmont hotel in Nairobi.

In attendance was the Managing Partner of BM Musau & Company Advocates LLP, who is also the Head of Department for Public Law at the Daystar University School of Law.

Interlaw was represented by its Global Chair Mr. Michael Pattinson, Board Director and Ms. Johanna Murugan

Interlaw is a network of global independent law firms with major centres worldwide. It enables member firms to collaborate and provide clients with seamless legal services across jurisdictions.

In his statement, Dr. Benjamin Musau said the collaboration serves as a strategic pathway to East Africa through Kenya.

“We are honored to host the Interlaw Global Chair and Board Director in Nairobi. This visit reflects the increasing recognition of Kenya as a strategic gateway to East Africa, and reinforces the importance of collaboration between local and international law firms in delivering effective cross-border legal solutions,” he stated.

On his part, Interlaw Global Chair, Mr. Pattinson, stated that “Africa represents an increasingly important region for global legal practice. This vision reflects Interlaw’s commitment to supporting our member firms and deepening collaboration across jurisdictions to better serve our clients.”

he further observed that the engagement is designed to foster legal innovation across legal firms, including the adoption of technology and artificial intelligence in legal practice with a view to meeting client expectations in a globalized network.

According to Dr. Musau, the collaboration provides an opportunity for Daystar University School of Law students to benefit through industrial attachment, internships, Moot Court competitions and public lectures from legal experts.
