DCCC Hosts Health Awareness Week

[Athi River: July 10, 2026]  The Daystar Compassion & Care Centre (DCCC), in collaboration with healthcare service providers hosted a Health Awareness Week at the PAC Court, Daystar University Main Campus Athi River, from 7th to 9th July 2026.

The health awareness and screening campaign, which targeted members of the University community among them students, staff and faculty, was supported by Meridian Medical Centre, Emerald Dental, Optica, Peponi Counseling Services, and Fidelity Insurance.

The event aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and overall wellness. Services offered included; general medical consultations, dental and eye check-ups, blood pressure and random blood sugar (RBS) tests, BMI and nutrition assessments, breast screening for women, HIV Testing Services (HTS), counseling, and health insurance advisory services.

Members of the community visited different booths based on their healthcare needs, where qualified professionals offered medical consultations, screening, counseling, and health education. The collaborative approach enabled attendees to receive multiple free health services under one roof.

Led by the Daystar Compassion & Care Centre, the event was designed to promote preventive healthcare while encouraging students and staff to prioritize their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Hundreds of participants took advantage of the free services, receiving professional guidance that could help detect health concerns early.

As DCCC proved its commitment to the university’s motto of holistic development, the event was reminder that maintaining good health was essential for academic success, productivity, and overall quality of life.
