Theme:
Research and Development in the 21st Century
Mode:
Physical/Blended
Call for Abstracts
The above conference seeks to appreciate the nexus between research and development. It is believed that, the concept of development and in particular sustainable development is all encompassing and therefore cuts across all spheres of life. Development in relation to human beings is
therefore a sine quo non for enjoyment of life. Research therefore becomes a critical tool in different spheres of life for generating new ideas to realize development as multidimensional phenomenon.
In view of the foregoing, research and development are like Siamese twins intertwined and therefore development without research is moribund and must be anchored on empirical/functional research
The conference will be a melting pot of ideas bringing together various scholars and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary platform to deliberate on the nexus between functional research and development in the 21st Century and in the process generate new ideas on how to spur development riding on
empirical research.
This will be a blended conference, thus some of the presentations will be virtual and others physical.
The organizing committee is calling for abstracts of between 250-300 words on the role of functional research on development in any of the below herein sub themes:
Specific Objectives:
i. Generate new knowledge highlighting the link between research and
development in the 21st Century.
ii. Demonstrate the utility of functional research in driving development
in the 21st Century.
iii. Generate new knowledge in various fields for contributing towards
development.
iv. Resolve societal challenges through research and in the process spur
development.
v. Demonstrate that the extent to which society in the 21st
