I greet all new students joining us this August 2020 Semester. Welcome.

I take this opportunity to welcome you all from wherever you are as I reach out to assure you that you have made the right choice to partner with Daystar University – the Innovative Christ-centered University – for your academic journey.

Among you also are our Alumni who are returning back to their Alma Mater for further studies. I want to thank you for heeding to my call to come back home and study. Daystar is rapidly transforming and I assure you of a better experience than ever before.

I also want to assure you all new students that our Faculty, our staff and myself are fully committed to supporting your dreams and aspirations as you embark on your studies here at Daystar University. I am delighted to inform you that considering that this semester in online, we have extended you a 15% discount on tuition for self-sponsored students. (Click → new students' Online fee structure for Aug Semester 2020)

We look forward to receiving you on Monday August 24, 2020, as you begin your Orientation Week and later start classes on August 31, 2020. Please note that we invited you for Online Study this August Semester and therefore three things you need for Online Study are: 

  1. A Laptop or Smartphone 
  2. Stable Internet and 
  3. Reliable power supply.

Please make early arrangements to ensure that you remain connected either for the Live address by myself and our Senior University Officials. Later, you will also have live sessions with your School Deans and HODs. To join us for the Live session on Monday, take note of the Meeting ID and Passcode sent to you as part of this advance communication. A detailed Orientation Programme will be availed to you on Monday August 24th when you begin your Orientation.

 I also urge the young students who are joining University for the first time to encourage your parents to join you for this initial Vice-Chancellor’s Live Address from 8:30am to 10:00am. This is where they can interact with senior University Officials and ask any questions they might have regarding your academic journey with us which they will be sponsoring. Important Notices

As you prepare to take up your place online at Daystar University, please take note of the following important notices:

  1. Registration Process
  2. All students are expected to register in person in their student portals. Registration involves the following steps:

     a. Opening of the students portal assisted by ICT via email:

     b. Selection of courses online as per the timetable and course offering with advice from your respective Head of Department.

     c. Payment of fees at Co-operative Bank Athi River Branch A/C 01120065209800 or Mpesa PAYBILL 209800. Account number is your student Admission Number. Then submit the payment slip to the Finance Office via email: for updating.

     d. Login into the e-learning portal.

  3. Matriculation Form:
  4. The Admissions and Records Office will provide you with the link and guidelines on how to fill in the Declaration of Assent Form which enables you to complete Matriculation requirements and proceed to course selection.

  5. Payment of Fees
  6.  New students are required to pay 100% fees during the first semester of their study. Both the Orientation Fee and the Semester Fees should be paid within the week of orientation. In the subsequent semesters, fees can be paid by installment, following arrangements by the parent/guardian with the Finance Office. The University has extended a 15% discount on tuition fee to enable you acquire data to facilitate online studies.

  7. Student Email Address
  8.  After you are duly registered, the ICT department will create for you a Daystar student email ( The login details will be sent to your personal email address. This official email will henceforth be the official means of communication between you and the University. It is also used to activate student portal account and the e-learning portal account.

  9. Student Portal
  10.  The ICT department will also create for you an account in the University portal In this portal, the student is able to: register for courses at the start of each semester, check their financial statements, check class schedule and progression, examination results, and register for University hostel accommodation.

     New students are assisted by ICT staff to register for courses, as part of the induction process, including courses selection and class registration.

  11. Daystar ELearning Platform
  12.  All students are registered on the eLearning portal On this portal, the student will be able to take online lessons.

  13. Computer Labs
  14.  All Daystar students are given accounts to access computers for practical classes, research and centralized printing services; students are given accounts and printing PINs to enable them print assignments.. All labs are connected to the Internet.

  15. WiFi
  16.  The University has provided WiFi, which can be accessed using your individual devices such as the phone, tablets, or laptops. Students are given accounts that enable them to individually log onto the WiFi network.
