As you prepare to take up your place online at Daystar University, please take note of the following important notices:
- Registration Process
All students are expected to register in person in their student portals. Registration involves the following steps:
a. Opening of the students portal assisted by ICT via email: ictsupport@daystar.ac.ke
b. Selection of courses online as per the timetable and course offering with advice from your respective Head of Department.
c. Payment of fees at Co-operative Bank Athi River Branch A/C 01120065209800 or Mpesa PAYBILL 209800. Account number is your student Admission Number. Then submit the payment slip to the Finance Office via email: finance@daystar.ac.ke for updating.
d. Login into the e-learning portal.
- Matriculation Form:
The Admissions and Records Office will provide you with the link and guidelines on how to fill in the Declaration of Assent Form which enables you to complete Matriculation requirements and proceed to course selection.
- Payment of Fees
New students are required to pay 100% fees during the first semester of their study. Both the Orientation Fee and the Semester Fees should be paid within the week of orientation. In the subsequent semesters, fees can be paid by installment, following arrangements by the parent/guardian with the Finance Office. The University has extended a 15% discount on tuition fee to enable you acquire data to facilitate online studies.
- Student Email Address
After you are duly registered, the ICT department will create for you a Daystar student email (@daystar.ac.ke). The login details will be sent to your personal email address. This official email will henceforth be the official means of communication between you and the University. It is also used to activate student portal account and the e-learning portal account.
- Student Portal
The ICT department will also create for you an account in the University portal http://portal.daystar.ac.ke/ In this portal, the student is able to: register for courses at the start of each semester, check their financial statements, check class schedule and progression, examination results, and register for University hostel accommodation.
New students are assisted by ICT staff to register for courses, as part of the induction process, including courses selection and class registration.
- Daystar ELearning Platform
All students are registered on the eLearning portal https://elearning.daystar.ac.ke/ On this portal, the student will be able to take online lessons.
- Computer Labs
All Daystar students are given accounts to access computers for practical classes, research and centralized printing services; students are given accounts and printing PINs to enable them print assignments.. All labs are connected to the Internet.
- WiFi
The University has provided WiFi, which can be accessed using your individual devices such as the phone, tablets, or laptops. Students are given accounts that enable them to individually log onto the WiFi network.
