Title and Responsibilities

Senior Lecturer - School of Communication

  • Lecturing corporate communication, public relations, and research units at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Biography

I hold a PhD in corporate communication from Daystar University. My research pursuits at the PhD level helped me explore the concepts of political and public relations within the context of public administration. In undertaking a study on the perceptions of terror victims toward government communication allowed me space to interrogate the feedback that comes out of public communication on a sensitive issue as terrorism (which has been classified as violent communication). I also hold a Master of Arts in corporate communication from Daystar University. My research area focused on internal communication and how such communication influences the performance of employees. I also hold a Master of Arts in Philosophy (Ethics Option) from the University of Nairobi. My dissertation focused on the political obligatory underpinnings for a technocratic form of government. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Nairobi.

I have had a cumulative experience of 21 years having served in the public service, public university (at Technical University of Mombasa), and in the private sector. At Daystar University, I serve in the capacity of Senior Lecturer in the department of Strategic and Organizational Communication (STOC). I teach both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My remit includes mentoring students and supervising postgraduate students at dissertation writing stage.
