Biography

I have been a high school teacher for 15 year teaching geography and History and also school counselor.  I am an Educational Psychologist skilled in teaching  and applying Developmental Psychology, human learning, Psychopathology, Psychological assessment and intervention, Personality development, Adolescent Psychology, Addiction studies, Behaviour Modification, orgarnisational/social Psychology, Research methods in Education and Statistics, Testing and Measurement.

As an Educational psychologist I am sensitive to learners and their contexts, I have excellent listening and empathic skills, and I relate well with learners across spectrum of institutions from children, young adults and the mature learners. I am an excellent communicator. My core areas of practice include enhancing learning, behaviour modification, mental health and research in educational contexts.

My main areas of research are in Adolescent Psychology, I have published widely in child and adolescent delinquency, adolescent psychosocial adjustment, and parenting in context of education. I have written book chapters on parenting and well adjusted children and on higher education compliance to Commission of University Education.

As a Senior Lecturer in Daystar University I have taught for 12 years in Education department and also in Child development department.  I have also taught in Catholic University. I have long experience as a thesis supervisor and also an external examiner for Jaramogi Odinga University. I have experiences in management as a dean and head of department in Daystar University.  Iam a member of Daystar University Ethical Review Board.

I am a full member of Kenya Nonfiction Academic Authors Association (KNAAA), American Society for the Study of Religion (ASSR) and Kenya Psychologists Association).

As part of community service Iam a Trainer of Trainers of Catholic Women Association in the Archdioceses of Nairobi, I conduct assessment for Catholic Association Women training in the dioceses. With authors I authored a manual for training in Archdiocese of Nairobi in matters of Catholic Christian faith, human psychological, social and economic development of women and their families. Iam the Moderator of Small Christian Community of St Justine DePaul’s Catholic Church. I educate Women in the Catholic Archdioceses of Nairobi.
