Biography

I have been a Geography and Christian Religious Education teacher in Alliance Girls, Pangani Girls and AIC Morop Girls Nakuru, Kenya. I joined Daystar University in January 2006 as a Student Counselor and later became the Coordinator, Collaborative Academic Programs. I was a Lecturer in the department of Psychogy from May 2014 to May 2015 and in June 2015 became a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Peace and Conflict Studies. I became the Assistant Director, Quality Assurance in November 2015 to October 2016. In November 2016, became the Director, Quality Assurance, a position that I hold to date.

I have skills in the area of leadership, motivation speaking, counseling, negotiation and mediation. I am good at assertiveness training, decision making, capacity building as well as team building.

I am a member of Kenya Counseling Association as well as Kenya Psychological Association. I am also a member of Association for Faculty Enrichment in Learning and Teaching.

Research Projects

  1. Member of a multidisciplinary research group in a study titled “Towards a Transformed  Society: The Role of Participatory Communication and Behavior Change Campaigns on Plastic Disposals in Kenya”
  2. Participated in a HIV and AIDs Psychotrauma Project (Intervention). This was a project with several phases including finding out the depression levels of HIV positive women in Korogocho, Nairobi Kenya, taking them through a counseling programme using the narrative approach and re- checking their depression levels after the counseling program.

The project was being done between Seoul Institute of Narrative Studies, KOICA and Daystar University and was one of the Key participants.
