DUSOL Students Recognised in Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch Mediation Moot Competition

The Daystar University School of Law (DUSOL) took part in the just ended Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch Mediation Moot Competition which was hosted by the Africa Nazarene University in conjunction with Women in ADR (WADR), from May 6 - 9, 2024.

The Daystar University School of Law (DUSOL) took part in the just ended Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch Mediation Moot Competition which was hosted by the Africa Nazarene University in conjunction with Women in ADR (WADR), from May 6 - 9, 2024.
 
The DUSOL team comprised of four mooters namely:  Victor Mundati (Negotiator), Abigail Omondi (Negotiator), Innocentia Anyango (Researcher) and Jerry Amimo (Mediator).  The team was supported by three coaches: Wycliff Kamau, Ayub Okayo, and Velma Odhiambo.

The DUSOL team advanced to the semi finals where the were eliminated 
team was however eliminated by the overall winner of the competition, the University of Nairobi Mombasa Campus. The Daystar team was awarded for the Best Mediation Plan as 1st Runners-Up.
 
The best negotiating team came from University of Nairobi Mombasa Campus, the 1st Runners up being Moi Kabarak University, followed by Daystar University.

The best Mediation Plan was from USIU, with Daystar University coming in as 1st runner's up, followed by Kabarak University.
 
The best Mediator was from Chuka University, followed Moi Kabarak University, then Africa Nazarene University.
 
The best oralist was from Chuka University, followed by the UoN Mombasa Campus, and Kabarak University.
 
Daystar University lost the top prize by only 0.5 points margin to the University of Nairobi.
