Daystar extends opportunities to prisons

Daystar University is working on an education model that seeks to prisons officers and inmates who need higher education while in confinement.

Prof. Laban Ayiro joins Ms. Chandaria and the PS, State Department of Correctional Service Madam Mary Muthoni, to break ground at Langata Women's Maximum Prison on 14th February.
 
Daystar University is designing an education model that will enable prisons officers and inmates to study online from their respective correctional facility.
 
This was announced by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro on 14th February during the ground-breaking ceremony of Phase 2 of the Chandaria Foundation Bakery project Langata Women's Maximum Prison.

Phase 1 of the Bakery was completed a year ago and is empowering female inmates through skill development.
