Students Placement and International Relations (SPIRO)

The Daystar placement office (PO) is a Career Planning and Development subsection of the Student Affairs wing of the Community Life. The PO advocates all-round career preparation and is committed to the career development of students and graduates of Daystar University. Through a range of career-focused services and programs, the office provides students with comprehensive job market information and insightful advice to help actualize their career aspirations.


Vision: The career and placement office aspires to focus on creating an environment of student centeredness exhibiting professionalism, responsiveness, collaboration and cooperation in order for students to realize and achieve their professional potential.

Mission: The office assists students and alumni in developing, evaluating and effectively implementing their career and professional plans through program initiatives; faculty, employer and alumni collaborations; and outreach on and off the University campus to employers, alumni and graduate/professional schools



  • To enhance students’ understanding of the corporate world and to equip them with the essential skills for future success
  • To initiate industry-focused activities and to engage recruiters to collaborate on events
  • To raise awareness on professionalism and ethics at the workplace and promote best practices among students
  • To collaborate with colleges, faculties and other University units in organizing targeted programmes to cater for the needs of students of different academic backgrounds and various career interests
  • To strengthen students’ global perspective and social consciousness, and shape responsible citizens who are able to contribute to and be leaders in the global community
  • To expand job opportunities for students and to provide a platform for recruiters to connect and interact with targeted students

Some organizations require indemnification from losses; come with your parent/guardian letter of commitment that states their commitment to liability to enable us sign for you.

Career Guidance Workshops and Programs

Be prepared for job search skills and join our career guidance programs to discover all about job search and career management skills. For internship placement: send your resumes to 3 months before due date. A monthly follow up is encouraged.

DU Mentorship Programs

Get career planning advice from experienced management executives through participating in our lectures/seminars; visit the placement office for more details. All programs are advertised through the daystar students emails!

Global Internship Programme (GIP)

Make the most out of your university life and take a global perspective on your career exploration activities. Application starts in January every year. Learn more about GIP. Check your Daystar emails!

Career Counselling Service

A one-on-one session for you to explore career opportunities and crystallize career aspirations. Schedule for an appointment with the career counselor from the SDO front office desk.

Graduate Employment Survey

Your success is our endeavor. We would like to know about your career destination upon graduation. The career /placement office will be conducting a Graduate Employment Survey annually. Data collected will be used career services planning for students.

Recruitment Services We Offer

Recruitment Presentation

Arrange a visit to DU students. Our office offers assistance in arranging recruitment presentations for employers to meet with our students on campus throughout the year but preferred days of the week Monday and Wednesdays from 3.30 – 5pm. The preferred day for all day events is Saturday. It is the simplest method to introduce job opportunities your firm offers to a large number of highly-talented potential candidates from diverse academic backgrounds.

Students' Sign-up Arrangement

Students are required to register for attending a recruitment presentation in advance, while drop-in students are welcome, subject to seats' availability, to the event at the same time. The sign-up process enables us to send out reminders to the registered students and allow employers to prepare adequate supply of presentation materials. All students must present their student cards upon entering the presentation venue.

Company Information Sessions and Networking Events

For an efficient campus recruitment exercise, you may consider organizing in-house company presentations or networking events. If you are targeting talents from specific faculties or study degrees, we offer screening services to ensure attendees meet with the basic candidate requirements.

Job Advertisement

Employers interested will need to introduce themselves through a letter/email and provide us with a copy of Business Registration for our reference check and approval. As a registered employer, you can post a vacancy and reach potential students at anytime. Our full-time undergraduates and postgraduates are able to access the website and check for job opportunities when and wherever they prefer.

Collecting Students Application

For large-scale recruitment exercise, we may help collect student applications for the recruiters after a vacancy is advertised on daystar website Link. Collected résumés will be sent via e-mail or via courier by a pre-arranged deadline. Please contact daystar placement officer for detailed arrangement.

Campus Interview

Coming to campus to carry out job interview and assessment is a good option for recruiters. Interview arrangement on campus could also be made. For arrangement details, please contact the placement officer at daystar university

NGOs Volunteering Internship Programs

March of every year the career office invites NGOs from different segments to the campus for career day and advertising volunteering opportunities to our students. The voluntary internship opportunity offers students different perspectives to the world issues and at the same time, a chance for personal growth. Students may help with editorial of booklets and newsletters, public relations or marketing campaign, back-office accounting, human resources, other special projects, etc.
