ABOUT AFRICAN JOURNAL OF MEDIA & COMMUNICATION (AJMC)

The African Journal of Media & Communication (AJMC) is an interdisciplinary journal that welcomes both practical and cutting-edge research examining the role of communication in different contexts in Africa and beyond. It is a rigorously peer-reviewed journal with an editorial team of international and local researchers.

Under the wings of Daystar University as its publisher, the journal invites articles from practitioners and academia that provoke scholarship while providing practical and intellectual knowledge and insights within communication and associated fields especially within the social sciences and humanities orientation.

AJMC will be published three times a year and is interested in empirical, comparative, and theoretical articles. These articles should be submitted in English language in an editable MS Word format. Articles submitted to the journal should adhere to the APA formatting style as advanced in the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Because of the advancement in established research methods and the emergence of newer approaches to exploring and probing knowledge, the journal is open and welcomes articles that provides meaningful understanding about the changing nature of communication from theoretical and practice perspectives using eclectic research traditions such as quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. Submission of articles should be made via the journal website.

The journal reflects a global identity. Even so, it accepts articles from diverse geo-political regions of the world. The journal’s philosophy believes that these diversities enrich communication scholarship in a way that contributes to a meaningful global dialogue within the field. Committed to scholarly excellence, the journal will occasionally publish special issues themed around a given aspect of communication practice or targeted at a particular geo-political region to appreciate how contexts help to build conceptual models and drive theoretical knowledge in the field of communication.

AJMC is driven to facilitate both practical and cutting-edge research examining the role of communication in different contexts in Africa and beyond.
