Daystar Falcons Sports Teams Excel in KUSA championships

Daystar Falcons teams have been busy in the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) Nairobi-North Conference.

  • On 11th and 12th February, the Falcons Darts men's team scooped position 2 while women took position 3. In Karate, Daystar Falcons took position 3. Men's and women's darts teams are proceeding for the National play-offs.
  • On 2nd and 3rd February Elias Kemboi took 2nd and 3rd positions in athletics 5,000 metres.
  • The Main Campus men's soccer team smashed Mount Kenya University 3-1
  • The Falcons netball team won Kiriri Women’s University 25-23 and Gretsa University 32-28.
  • The Falcons Ladies Handball team beat St Paul’s University 14-9.
  • On February18, 2023 in the Mt. Kenya Karate Opens played on February 18, 2023, Daystar University's Redempta emerged 3rd in the senior Kata category, and 3rd in Kumite. Mike Juma was 3rd in men's Kumite.

The Falcons Rugby team has performed very well this season, qualifying for the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) championship play-offs. The latest outing has seen them play Shamas Foundation, beating them 44-27. The Falcons are still in the race to grab one of two top slots in the League to be promoted to the premier tier, Kenya Cup, as they play their last regular league match against South Coast Pirates at Strathmore University.

Winning this match will be critical in raising the profile of the team, thereby raising the interest of many rugby players to play for it.

"We are therefore likely to recruit heavily as many a rugby player will want to play for Daystar Falcons in the coming days,"

said Sports Officer Maurice Masiga.
