Vice-chancellor spends two days at St. Michael's Kabaa High School

St. Michael's Kabaa High School Teachers and Facilitators.

On 10th - 11th March, 2023, the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Laban Peter Ayiro spent two days at St. Michael’s Kabaa High School in Yatta, Machakos County, coaching teachers and students on how to improve academic performance.

Prof. Ayiro took the teachers through intense sessions on the importance of mind mapping, log frames, summary notes, and revision of past paper questions.
The teachers learnt the art of helping students to understand what they have learned, develop the skill of revising, and encourage them to uplift each other through academic keshas and discussion groups.

Similarly, the Form IV students were coached on how to revise using mind maps, syllabus, study planners, and other proven ways of achieving high grades at individual, group and school level.  They were also challenged to develop confidence, build courage and own their story well enough to know why they need to work hard.

A teacher by profession and at heart, Prof. Ayiro invests his time and talent to coach and mentor several secondary schools on how to re-engineer performance through a tested scientific process.

Schools that have benefited from Prof. Ayiro’s mentorship include Langalanga Secondary School, Bungoma High School, Kapsabet Boys, Kenya High School, Moi Forces Academy, St. Peter’s Mumias, Jamhuri High, and Utumishi Academy, Upper Hill Secondary School, Moi Girls Kibwezi, and Lenana High School remaining at a steady high.  Prof. Ayiro also works with the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) at national and county levels.

Through these engagements, Daystar University continues to gives career talks to students and guide them on career choices as they transition from high school.
