Daystar University Vice-chancellor announced Signatory of Global Peace Corps

[Wednesday 13th December 2023 – Manila, Philippines] Daystar University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro has been announced one of five inaugural signatories of Global Peace Corps.
The announcement was made during the Global Peace Convention held in Manila, Philippines, under the auspices of Global Peace Foundation (GPF), from December 10 – 15, 2023.
The Convention which attracted over 2,000 delegates served as a melting pot of ideas and strategies from distinguished global leaders, experts, policymakers, journalists, religious leaders, and representatives from civil society in attendance.
A key highlight of the 2023 Convention was the launch of Global Peace Corps as a worldwide youth movement dedicated to championing critical global issues, notably youth empowerment, peace, and sustainable environmental protection.
Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon, a renowned figure in global peace, delivered the keynote address which set the tone for the discussions that ensued.
The significant event hosted by GPF symbolized a significant step forward in global collaborative efforts and marked a key milestone in the ongoing partnership between the GPF and Daystar University.
Prof. Ayiro’s inclusion in the inaugural panel of Global Peace Corps signatories gives Daystar University the opportunity to add its voice to issues affecting the youth globally, in key areas of focus.
Accepting this role, Prof. Ayiro expressed his profound gratitude and humility, stating, "I am humbled and extremely honored today to have been made one of the signatories of the Global Peace Corps during the Global Peace Convention 2023 in Manila, Philippines. Glory to God!"
This engagement not only underscores Daystar University's commitment to global peace and sustainable development but also positions its students at the forefront of these critical global movements.
This honor came weeks after the Professor of Research Methods was voted the best Vice-chancellor in the region, by East African Employability Summit and Uongozi Career Awards 2023, on 23rd November 2023.
