The Jappe Family visits Daystar University

The Jappe Family at Main Campus Athi River

By Carolyne Nyokabi

[Athi River, Wednesday January 8, 2025] Pastor Mark Jappe and his family visited Daystar University’s Main Campus Athi River where they were treated to a guided tour of the Campus.

The Jappe family—comprising Pastor Jappe, his wife Janet, their son Caleb and his wife Kaleigh, and their three daughters aged 11, 8, and 6—explored the campus, reconnecting with the university’s rich history and vibrant community.

The Jappes were hosted by the DLPDI Director Rev. Dr. Patrick Musembi, the Corporate Affairs & Marketing Manager Mrs. Damaris Kimilu, Mrs. Grace Mbogo-Liyai from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, and Ms. Carolyne Nyokabi from the Directorate of Resource Mobilization.

The tour included significant landmarks such as the PAC Administration Block, Hope Centre, student hostels, Jack & Camie Eugster Fitness Centre (Gym), the Mayin water purification plant, the medical centre, poultry farm, Founders House, Agape Library, and key academic facilities like the ICT Complex, School of Business (SBE), School of Communication (SOC), School of Law (SOL), School of Nursing (SON) and Heroes Corner.

The visit was especially meaningful for the Jappes, whose father had taught Chemistry at Daystar years ago, leaving a lasting legacy that the family was eager to revisit.

Following the visit, Pastor Jappe led a four-day Church Growth Training at the Nairobi Campus on January 9-10 and January 13-14, organised by the Daystar Leadership and Professional Development Institute (DLPDI). The sessions aimed to equip pastors with tools to foster growth and development within their congregations.

The university community warmly welcomed the Jappe family, celebrating their ties to Daystar’s heritage and their commitment to advancing church leadership in the region.

Ms. Carolyne Nyokabi is a Public Relations Assistant in the Directorate of Resource Mobilization.
