Prof. Laban P. Ayiro presents the Daystar University History book to H.E. Amb. Gideon Behar

[Athi River Campus, October 30, 2025] The Israeli Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Gideon Behar paid a courtesy visit to Daystar University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, at the University’s Main Campus Athi River.
The visit reaffirmed the growing partnership between Daystar University and the State of Israel, in areas of environmental conservation, academic exchange, and technological innovation.
During discussions, the envoy and his delegation explored ongoing and future collaborations, including the expansion of a tree-planting initiative. The project, which emphasizes the incorporation of biblical tree species, aims to promote environmental stewardship and create a model of faith-based conservation on campus.
The Ambassador commended Daystar University’s efforts in integrating ecological restoration with learning, while both parties expressed a shared commitment to advancing sustainable conservation of the ecosystem. He encouraged the University leadership to explore the integration of carbon credits as a viable income-generating opportunity for the university’s environmental programs.
The Ambassador’s delegation included the, Deputy Ambassador- Ms. Ariel Arviv, MASHAV Director Mr. Eitan Hatzor, MASHAV Officer Wakesho Ninah –and the Regional UN Liaison Officer attached to Israeli Embassy Ms. Mercy Mburugu.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro was accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance, Administration and Planning) Prof. Muturi Wachira, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Research and Student Affairs) Prof. Samuel Muriithi, the Director, School of Mission and Theology, Prof Bernard Boyo, the Director of Resource Mobilization Ms. Jacqueline Mathaga, and DRM Fundraising &Communications Officer, Ms. Carolyne Nyokabi.
Both sides discussed possibilities for student exchange programs, agricultural visits, and possible joint research projects to strengthen academic and cultural ties between the two nations.
Prof. Ayiro lauded the Ambassador and his delegation for their continued engagement, and reaffirmed Daystar University’s commitment to deepening collaboration in education, technology, and environmental sustainability.
“This partnership reflects our shared belief in nurturing responsible stewardship of creation and empowering students through innovation and cross-cultural exchange,” Prof. Ayiro noted.
The delegation planted trees in the budding Forest reaffirming their shared commitment to environmental stewardship, climate action and the enduring friendship between Daystar University and the people of Israel.
