[Nairobi: November 8, 2025]  The graduating Class of 2025 held an exquisite dinner at the Argyle Grand Hotel, marked with pomp and glamour as they entered the final week to graduation.

Both graduands and University officials arrived in style, dressed elegantly in black and gold – the class theme colours for the dinner. The ballroom was adorned with hanging crystal chandeliers and digital screens, creating an ambience of luxury. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as the graduands reconnected one last time.

The dinner entailed a sumptuous meal and medley of performances. The Saxophonist Abdul Shaban and the Event Mover, Fidel Chiteri wowed diners with sweet melodies and eloquence respectively.

Speaking to the graduands, the DUSA President Mr. Lewis Sekento highlighted the importance of the dinner, which he said will forever remain special in the graduands’ hearts.

“Forever you will remember this day since it marks a great step in your lives,” he said, further urging them to keep the spirit of Daystar alive even as they embark on their new journeys.

The Dean of Students Rev. Mutinda Musyimi commended the Class Committee for successfully organizing the dinner. He urged the class to cultivate a culture of living harmoniously with people, noting that one’s success in life depends on other people’s efforts and success. “Life has a way of thriving in good relationships,” he said.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, the Ag. DVC ARSA, Prof. Samuel Muriithi, underscored the importance of surrendering to God and remaining in his purpose despite challenges. He elucidated three lessons that people can learn from the story of Joseph:

  • Trusting God by believing in his timing and following his precepts.
  • Exhibiting a high level of integrity at all cost both in high and low moments of life.
  • Enduring suffering since that’s where to encounter God’s given purpose.

He concluded his remarks by charging the students to go forward and impact the world through God’s guidance.

Daystar University Alumni Association (DUAA) Global Board Secretary, Mr. Eric Musyoki, emphasized the importance of servant leadership, noting that Daystar alumni are sent as servants of light and hope.

He highlighted two key initiatives currently being undertaken by the Alumni Association board namely “The Last Mile Fund” which supports students with financial needs and the “Jenga Hekalu” initiative, which is committed to seeing the completion of the university chapel by raising 1,000 bags of cement.

The event culminated with the cutting of a celebratory cake led by CPA Francis Mutinda, and other PhD graduands present.

In his vote of thanks, Mr. Jesse Ondolla appreciated all stakeholders who made the event a success notably: Dinner sub-committee led by Ms. Jean Murungi, the Main Graduation committee led by Prof. Samuel Muriithi, the graduands whose input and criticism made the event a success, and the Argyle Grand Hotel for their continued support.
