Daystar University Student Association (DUSA) in partnership with the Vice Chancellor is organizing a run dubbed L.A.P Run: Run the Distance, Fund the Future, on Saturday, 7th February 2026.
The goal of the run is to raise KSh. 5,000,000 to support 450 vulnerable students, while promoting education and community empowerment.
The L.A.P Run is a student-led charity initiative aimed at supporting students with disabilities and those facing financial hardship, including international students.
The event is named in recognition of the philanthropic spirit exemplified by Prof. Laban Ayiro, whose legacy of supporting students in need inspires the mission
The event which will mark the launch of the annual DUSA project-dedicated to student welfare will commence at Uhuru Park Nairobi and cover 5KM and 15km. The charity run/walk is designed to establish a sustainable fund for vulnerable students within Daystar university.
DUSA anticipates attracting over 5,000 people including students, management, staff, faculty, Alumni, and public.
The project aligns with the university's core values of compassion, service, and holistic student development.
L.A.P Run will represent a significant step towards strengthening the Daystar community's safety net and fostering a culture of mutual support.
DUSA is committed to working closely with University Administration to ensure a successful, secure, and impactful event.
Registration Fee is: KES 1,500 (Daystarians); KES 2,000 (Non-Daystarians).
DUSA welcomes stakeholders to partner, sponsor, and run with purpose, to transform lives through education.
