New Students officially admitted to Daystar

The May 2022 trimester intake closed on June 11, with 900 students admitted into Daystar University.

Students who reported in the first week of admission were matriculated at a ceremony held at the Main Campus, Athi River on May 18, 2022.

Present at the ceremony was the Vice-chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, DVC Academic, Research and Students Affairs Prof. Faith Nguru, DVC Finance, Administration and Planning, Prof. Muturi Wachira, Principal Nairobi Campus, Prof. Michael Bowen, and members of Senate and Management, all donned in Graduation regalia to receive the new students into academia.

The Vice-chancellor encouraged the new students to build their lives, character and morals on the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Encouraging dialogue, the Vice-chancellor told the freshmen, “You don’t have to show roughness and toughness to results.”

The students pledged to abide by the Daystar ethos, after which they were officially admitted to the University.

The Orientation week which began on Monday May 16 was a beehive of activity as the new students, accompanied by their parents and guardians were received by a vibrant orientation team comprising Doulos, DCF, DUSA leadership, Corporate Affairs, Student Affairs, ICT, Admissions and Records, Finance, Chaplaincy, Library, Schools and departments.

Addressing the new students and their parents during his welcome reception the VC said, “You are now getting into your own freedom and how you use it is your decision, but remember your greatest fortress is the scripture and the fear of God.”

The VC called on the parents to partner with the University in the education of their sons and daughters.

The orientation programme included a dinner for the freshmen hosted by the student leadership on Friday, May 20, teambuilding activities at the Freedom base on Saturday 21, and Chapel service on Sunday May 22, 2022.

Classes for the May 2022 semester began on Monday 23, 2022.
