Acorn Holdings Limited Donates 4,000 tree seedlings to Daystar
On 22nd October, the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Laban Ayiro received 4,000 tree seedlings from the Chief Operating Officer of Arcon Holdings Limited Mr. Peter Njenga, toward the University’s tree planting initiative. The presentation took place at the Main Campus, Athi River.
As the Vice-chancellor received the trees, he revealed that the trees will be planted on approximately 8-acres of land. He was grateful to Arcon Holdings Limited for supporting the University’s tree planting initiative.
Meanwhile, in his speech, Mr. Peter Njenga expressed his interest in being part of the afforestation process of Daystar University.
The donation was made through the efforts of Projects Manager, Mrs. Coretta Ndunda.
This will help give more accurate facts and even better, conclude that the 10,000 trees target has been reached! Since August 2019, the University has been planting trees on the Main Campus. The trees have achieved almost 100% survival rate, making the Main campus green and beautiful.
The Vice-chancellor's tree planting initiative now covers over sixteen (16) acres.
