Freshmen attend Inaugural Chapel Service

Freshmen attend their first Orientation Chapel, receiving encouragement to persevere in faith, character, and academics as they start their university journey at Daystar University.

[13th January 2026] Newly admitted students attended their inaugural Chapel service at the Main Campus Athi River, signalling their invitation to the community of scholar-believers.  The Tuesday Chapel service was part of Orientation week activities.

During the service, the freshmen were urged to remain steadfast in faith and character as they begin their academic journey.

In attendance was the Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, DVC-FAP Prof. Muturi Wachira, DVC-ARSA Prof. Samuel Muriithi, Chief Human Resource Manager Mr. Pius Muia, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, Faculty, staff and the orientation team.

In a sermon titled: “A Call to Perseverance,” drawn from Hebrews 12:1–3 and Isaiah 26:3, Deputy University Chaplain for Athi River Campus, Rev. Josphat Kimacia, advised students to persevere trials, stay anchored in Christ, make wise decisions, resist life’s pressures, and uphold good character as they run the race of academics.

The freshmen were further challenged to be devoted to prayer, the word of God, and to seek godly mentorship.

Rev. Kimacia further encouraged staff to support new students with guidance and mentorship.

While closing the service, Deputy Chaplain for Nairobi Campus, Rev. Susan Siole, implored on God to help the new students to arise and shine through servant-leadership.

The Chair of the Daystar Christian Fellowship (DCF) Mr. Emmanuel Mukoya  invited the new students to plug into various ministries and service teams, clubs and associations available on Campus.
