[Athi River, 13 January 2026] Undergraduate and Diploma students admitted for the January 2026 Trimester were matriculated  at a ceremony held at the Main Campus Athi River, marking the start of an exciting academic journey.

The ceremony began with a grand entry of academic procession led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, and attended by the DVC-ARSA Prof. Samuel Muriithi, the DVC-FAP Prof. Muturi Wachira, Management, Deans of Schools, Directors, Heads of Departments, and faculty members.

In his devotion message, the University Chaplain Rev. Miano Weche said matriculation is the formal process by which students are formally admitted into a university to pursue degree, diploma or certificate courses.

The Vice Chancellor encouraged students to build strong character as they pursue academic excellence, and reminded them to never forget their story while pursuing their academics.

He further advised them to avoid distractions, make adequate use of the University Library and read widely to strengthen their learning experience so they can make a meaningful difference in their communities.

“Your degree shall open doors for you, but your character shall sustain you there,” he said, adding: “Be good ambassadors of Daystar University and represent the institution positively in all spheres of life.”

The DVC-ARSA Prof. Samuel Muriithi urged students to adapt to the new environment and maintain good morals.

On his part, the DVC-FAP Prof. Muturi Wachira assured the students that Daystar University was committed to creating a conducive learning environment for all students.

The ceremony climaxed with signing of the declaration of assent by which the new students committed to abide by the University’s code of conduct, fulfil academic and moral obligations.
