A section of Daystar University Management Board and Council Members going through Executive Governance Training in Dar es Salaam_20-21 April 2026

[Dar-es Salaam: 20th April 2026] Members of Daystar University Council, Management Board, faculty and staff are in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, this week participating in key institutional and international obligations; An Executive Governance Training and FOSTER Project engagements under the Erasmus+ cofunded EU project.
From 19 to 22 April 2026, the Daystar University delegation was engaged in part of a high level Executive Governance and Management Training programme focused on strengthening university governance, financial sustainability, strategic leadership, and institutional change management.
The University delegation is led by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, and includes three Council Members Mr. Samuel Abwoga, Hon. Gerald Githinji and Ms. Joyce Ikonya. Also in the delegation are the DVC-ARSA Prof. Samuel Muriithi, Director of Academic Affairs and Ag. University Registrar Dr. Dinah Keino, Director, School of Theology and Missions, Prof. Bernard Boyo, Principal Nairobi Campus, Prof. Michael Bowen, Chief Finance Officer, CPA Phyllis Mutua, Chief Manager HR Mr. Pius Muia, Director Main Campus, Dr. Ann Wachira, PA to DVC ARSA Ms. Eunice Ndung’u, and PA to DVC FAP Ms. Irene Tonje. The training is conducted by ESAMI.
Following the training, Daystar University Management Board and members of the FOSTER Project team [ODeL Deputy Director Dr. Martin Munyao, Research Officer Ms. Grace Mbogo, Financial Accountant CPA Fred Mutua, Marketing Assistant Ms. Rachael Mwaka, Dean School of Science Dr. Jane Kimathi, University Librarian Mrs. Jane Yobera, ODeL Director Dr. Lydia Radoli, Research Deputy Director (RICE) Dr. Japheth Mursi and Production Team Leader Mr. Ian Kiama will continue with project related engagements in Dar es Salaam, including:
- FOSTER Consortium Meetings (21–22 April 2026) that bring together project partner institutions from Kenya, Tanzania, Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain, to review project implementation and strategic priorities; and
- The FOSTER Open Science Forum (23–24 April 2026) convening University leaders, researchers, public authorities, industry representatives, and young researchers from Partner countries
These engagements affirm Daystar University’s leadership role in regional higher education collaboration and its responsibility as the Project Management Lead for the FOSTER Project (2025–2027), cofunded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education programme.
The University community is encouraged to keep the delegation in prayer as they represent Daystar University in these important governance and international partnership engagements.
