At the Nairobi Campus, the prayer day begun with Praise and Worship led by the Daystar Christian Fellowship worship team.

In attendance was the Campus Principal Prof. Michael Bowen, the ICT Manager Mr. Solomon Mburu, DUSA Secretary General Peter Desmond Mwine, and other members of staff and students.

The sermon was delivered by Rev. Munengi Mulandi. In his comical fashion, Rev. Mulandi gave a sermon from Genesis 22:1 – 19, where Abraham offered Isaac on Mt. Moriah.

Rev. Mulandi underscored the importance of having self-abandonment in total trust of the Lord, because there is a God who answers prayer. He concluded by challenging his listeners to take a public stance for Jesus.

Ian Nondi and Jemimah Kyule from the Daystar Christian Fellowship led the congregation in confession and repentance, and prayed for revival in Daystar and for God’s will to be done as it was in heaven.

Pastor Rachael Ngugi led in an introduction of University leaders after which Prof. Michael Bowen prayed for them. He gave a reading from Proverbs 9:10-12 and Psalm 9:1. He then prayed that the university leadership have a fear of the Lord through which wisdom will flow. He also prayed that the university leadership forever dwell in God.

The congregants also prayed for all the Schools, Directorates, departments, student leaders, and the student body at large.

Tatiana Otieno and James Makuei offered prayers for Kenya and all other nations represented at Daystar University. They prayed for the peaceful transition after the elections, the current leadership of Kenya, stable leadership at large and for nations to acknowledge God and make Him Lord over their nations.

Prayer Day culminated with Holy Communion, offertory and a benediction by Pastor Rachael Ngugi. As a university rooted in the Christian faith, Prayer Day is usually an important commemoration that takes place every semester.
