The Daystar University Alumni Association (DUAA) has this year chosen to take note of the impact and life of Ms. Mary Kizito had and will memorialise her On Monday 21st March 2016 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm at the DAC Auditorium.
Ms. Mary Kizito is a name that many remember with warmth and joy. She served in Daystar for 25 years and was instrumental in helping build a strong communications department that has now become the school of communication.
Her resilience became a great source of encouragement for many as they walked this road we call life. Even when she was diagnosed with cancer, she took treatment but still worked as much as she could. She never left anyone in the lurch if she could. She left no stone unturned in her life and poured out all she had to the very end. On 21st March 2015, she finished her race and rested in Christ Jesus.
As DUAA we choose to:
- Celebrate her determination to change the lives of all she met
- Celebrate her values of truth, honesty, hard work, life, faith and dignity
- Create an active platform that will consistently and significantly influence the communication world for Christ and the good of all
This initial lecture will be an opportunity to share our reflections of our learning and application of Communication as a tool of trade and life hence the theme “Remembering Critical Lessons.” We will have open discussions as well as remarks from some of our alumni including Mr. Solomon Mahinda- Managing Director H+K Strategies Kenya , Dr. Nancy Booker- Senior lecturer and chair of department, Journalism and Communication, Multimedia University and Mr. Paul Achar-Executive Speech Coach, Jade Communication Ltd.
