Title and Responsibilities

Deputy University Registrar

To focus and deliver on strengthening admission process, timely communication to all students on academic outcomes. Then liasing with Schools and administrative departments on all academic matters. Partner with University organs to ensure growth in student numbers.

Senior Lecturer, School of Business and Economics

Teaching Accounting and Finance Courses as well as mentoring students and conducting research.
Research in Accounting and Finance and dissemination of the research outcome in class and in the community.

Former Deputy Director, Centre for Quality Assurance

Coordinating internal self-evaluation of quality assurance systems and facilitating review/development of academic programmes; Compilation and presentation of external examiners reports, development and review of Quality Assurance manual/guides and other University services.

Biography

I have a wealth of experience in accounting, having worked in the Finance Department for ten years. In addition, for the last twelve years, I have been able to rise through the academics ranks from Graduate Assistant to a Senior Lecturer. During those years, I was involved in the development and review of Commerce programmes and coordinated international field trips for Commerce students (undergraduate and postgraduate) to over ten countries (from Asia Continent, Europe Continent and to the U.S.A).

I was the first African (Literary from Africa) professor to be recruited at Hannam University in the College of Business and Economics based at South Korea. I had an opportunity to teach and do research in Accounting – International Financial Reporting Standards. Hence, developed excellent interpersonal relationships skills and ability to adapt in changing environments both locally and abroad.

I also started an International English Fellowship at Suwon Yuljeon Church for four years. In 2016 I got appointed to be the Deputy Director, Center for Quality Assurance where I was involved with quality matters of the University by coordinating the “Matiangi’s quality audit of Universities in January 2017 as well as University re-inspection in 2018. Currently, I am coordinating the University wide internal quality Assurance processes.

I am a member of IFRS – Academic Educational initiative; a member of Association for faculty Enrichment in Learning and Teaching (AFLET), Chairman of Health and Safety Committee; a member of Curriculum Development and Review Committee and a member of Kenyan Universities Quality Assurance Network (KuQAN).
