Biography

My areas of specialization are Music literacy, Performance practices, Aesthetic in Music psychology, Music in Society Kenya, Music Industry, Vocal and Piano instruments, Choral and Composition music studies. I have been teaching at Daystar for the last four years and have been involved in training and preparing students for course work and examinations for several courses. I have been the coach for Daystar students in National Kenya Music Festival since 2015 to date, during which we have successfully won in the class Small Choir, Quartets, trios, duets and solo performances in the Kenya Music Festival National Competitions.

I have several years of teaching experience in Kenya both private schools and music academies preparing students for class and graded exams including the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music exams. I am a full member of the Kenya Music Festival Trainers and Adjudicators. I have been involved in establishing and preparing schools and church choirs for festivals in various parts of Kenya and also, in adjudicating both Kenya Music Festivals and Church Choir competitions.

My areas of specialization are Music literacy, Applied Practical Musicianship, Performing Arts, Music pedagogy, Aesthetic in Music psychology, Music in Society Kenya, Music Industry, Vocal and Piano instruments, Vocal Pedagogy, Performance Practice, Leading Worship, Choral and Composition music studies.

Have been involved in the revision of the BA Music curriculum at Daystar, and have assisted the department with writing some of the course syllabi for the program.

I am a born again Christian and I attend church at New Life Church where I serve as the music director, trainer and Chorister.

I am also a recording artist, having composed and performed worship songs in different vernacular languages (mother tongue), Kiswahili and English. I have been involved in different forums of the Music industry charting the way forward on the music industry and the Creative Economy in Kenya.
