Mr. Peter Masindano

Master of Arts in  Communication

Title and Responsibilities

Lecturer.

Teaching and evaluating undergraduate and graduate students and sup[revising master of Arts students in Communication. 

I am currently housed in the School of Arts and Humanities, Department of Theology and Pastoral Studies but I also teach and supervise students in the Department of Communication, School of Communication and Performing Arts.  

Biography

I have been an English language and Literature teacher and Kiswahili language and Fasihi teacher employed by the TSC at Garbatula national School and St. Mary’s Girls High school Igoji. I have done research on participation of women in Decision-making processes at the Community level inn Lamuria division of Laikipia district. I have taught several courses like: Communication and Culture, Persuasion, Intercultural Communication, Principles and Processes of Communication and Culture, African Traditional Societies, Development of Modern Africa and Christian Values, Historical Developments of the Modern world etc.

I served as the Resident Tutor for Imani Hostel (Daystar University, Athi

River campus) between December 2000 and July 2009. I have been the

Examination officer for Bible Department between January 2006 up to July

2009. I have been the acting HOD for Bible Department on Several occasions. 

I was Mombasa campus Coordinator between August 2009 and December 2014. I am experienced in working with others to complete tasks and projects, and solving problems using communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

I am also an experienced problem solver-identifying and accurately defining problems, gathering and evaluating problem relevant information, generating and implementing solutions, and monitoring their effectiveness by setting objectives.

I have excellent written, communication, interpersonal, liaison and problem solving skills with the ability to work in diverse environments.

I have ability to communicate verbally and in writing with confidence and sensitivity, and ability to pick up the organization system quickly.

I have leadership skills at both peer and organizational level. I am computer Literate in word processing and statistical packages.
