Biography

I was born and brought up in the Eastern rural region of Kenya by a Pastor who believed in the foundational role of faith and education for personal and societal transformation. After my degree in Education, I taught  conomics and Kiswahili for 8 years in two different schools. In the course of my teaching in High School, I have had the opportunity to serve as the patron of Christian Union, Guidance and Counseling as well as Deputy Principal.

Convinced of God’s call in my life to teaching ministry, I resigned from to pursue post-graduate training in Christian ministry. I tool Master of Divinity (biblical studies in 2004) and got a teaching job at Daystar University. I then went on to do PhD in Theological studies and graduated in 2017. I won a highly competitive Langham Scholarship for my PhD studies and also Resident Negel Institute fellowship to write my dissertation. At Daystar, I have served as the Resident Tutor, Grace Hostel; Examinations officer for Theology Department; and now the Head of Department.

I have served as a guest speaker & chief Bible expositor at National and Regional Conventions of Kenya Students Christian Fellowship (KSCF) at Mumbuni, Muvuti, and Vihiga High Schools in 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively. I also served as guest speaker at the National Ezra Convention of Fellowship of Christian Union Students (FOCUS) in universities and colleges on December 27, 2019 at Kabarak University.

Professionally, I am a member of Africa Society of Evangelical Theology (ASET) and Network for African Congregational Theology Network for African Congregational Theology (NetAct). I am currently the Vice Chair in the Board of Management in Mikuyuni High School.

I am married to Mr. Anthony Kitungi now for 27 years. God has blessed us with two biological children aged 26 and 24, and a few non-biological ones brough by God into our family.
