Daystar University was first housed at the Nairobi Campus. This campus is located approximately two kilometres from the City Centre, at the corner of Ngong Road and Valley Roads. It is a few minutes walk from Hurlingham shopping centre, the Kenyatta National Hospital and Nairobi Hospital. It also neighbours Nairobi Baptist Church and is easily accessible by public and private means.
The campus hosts the diploma programme, day and evening undergraduate programmes and the postgraduate programmes in Communication, Theology and Business. At this campus, the university also offers short courses in various areas including communication, community development and business.
The founders of Daystar bought this property in 1983. There was then only an old bungalow in the middle of the 1 acre plot. However, over the years this Daystar has grown and we now have a campus with 1,824 students and about 70 staff. We have also expanded our campus to accommodate the increase in students by leasing the former Allen Groove School just a few meters away, and hence increased parking space for our evening students. The University plans to building a state-of- the-art high rising complex at this campus.
